LIFE at RCIL’s Summer Youth Employment Program
Participants will receive assistance with career exploration and will participate in summer-time, gainful, vocational experiences in integrated settings to develop valuable work skills.
The Summer Youth program provides a unique opportunity for a youth with a disability to learn on-the-job readiness skills and gain real work experiences that support preparation for life after high school.
Program Features
Program is in partnership with the Oneida County Workforce Development and has been operated by LIFE at RCIL since 2010. The program occurs in July and August of each year.
- Youth will work approximately 50 hours over the two month period at minimum wage.
- Youth will be educated on soft skill areas such as proper work attire, work scheduling, call-in procedures, and the importance of being on time and maintaining a good attendance record.
