Overview

At RCIL, our advocates assist individuals with disabilities by providing them with essential guidance and community support services to help them live independently. We make sure you have the information needed to make informed decisions, overcome barriers, and access benefits such as NY Food Stamps, Medicaid, and SSI/SSDI.

  • Information & Referral: Get help finding ageing and disability services and resources.
  • Department of Social Services: Assistance with NY Food Stamps, Medicaid, HEAP, and Temporary Assistance applications.
  • Social Security: Support with SSI/SSDI applications and resolving overpayments.
  • Community Supplemental Needs Medicaid Trust: Access Medicaid through a Pooled Trust for those over income limits.
  • NY State Olmstead Plan: Guidance on transitioning out of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Assistance with ADA rights and filing complaints for violations.
  • Meeting Basic Needs: Help finding housing, food, and local services if you're homeless or in need.
