RCIL’s Community Living Supports program offers personalized advocacy, independent living skills training, and assistance with public benefits to improve the well-being and quality of life for individuals in their community.
RCIL’s Community Living Supports program offers advocacy and support for individuals navigating community systems. Advocates assist with public benefits, housing assistance, and independent living skills, while also providing specialized support in areas like education and employment. Additionally, ICAN helps individuals access long-term care or behavioral health services, while RCIL’s Public Health Worker provides health-related presentations and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

- Assistance with public benefits (SNAP, Medicaid, Social Security), housing applications, home modifications, and support services to promote independence.
- Skills such as using public transportation, shopping, paying bills, and making appointments.
- Advocates provide services based on individual goals and make sure that individuals' rights are not compromised.
- Information and Referral (I&R) provides guidance to individuals who need information and community resources.
- Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN) assists with Medicaid Long Term Care Plan (MLTC) enrollment, application processes, and appeals for individuals who need long-term care or behavioral health help services.
- Public Health Worker provides twice-monthly health and lifestyle presentations on topics like healthy eating, beating the winter blues, and technology for life management, either at the center or in the community.
Who We Serve
- Advocates work with anyone with any type of disability, including a disability perceived by the person requesting the service. There is no need to provide documentation of any medical condition or disability.
- Independent Consumer Advocacy Network (ICAN) eligibility: Must have Medicaid and be eligible for a Medicaid Long Term Care Plan.
- Public Health Worker eligibility: Open to anyone.
