The Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL) is excited to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, aimed at providing a more accessible, user-friendly, and informative platform for individuals with disabilities and the community at large.

The updated website, available at www.rcil.com, has been completely overhauled with a fresh, modern design and enhanced functionality, making it easier for visitors to navigate RCIL’s extensive resources and services. The new site aims to improve access to essential information and create an engaging online experience for users of all abilities.

“We’re thrilled to introduce our newly designed website, which is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities,” said Zvia McCormick, RCIL CEO. “The new site is much more than a cosmetic update. It’s a tool that empowers individuals to connect with the supports and services they need to live independently, whether that’s finding housing, accessing transportation resources, or learning about the rights of people with disabilities.”

Key features of the new RCIL website include:

  • Improved Navigation: The site boasts a simplified, intuitive layout, allowing visitors to easily locate information about RCIL’s programs, services, and advocacy efforts.
  • Enhanced Accessibility: In line with RCIL’s mission to promote inclusivity, the website incorporates accessibility features, such as text resizing, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
  • Comprehensive Resource Hub: Users will find a wealth of resources, including guides, training materials, and links to external support networks designed to promote independent living.
  • Event Calendar: The new site includes a dynamic calendar where users can find upcoming events, workshops, and advocacy campaigns that support people with disabilities.
  • Contact and Support: Visitors can easily reach out for assistance with live chat options, contact forms, and direct access to RCIL staff.

This redesign is part of RCIL’s broader initiative to provide greater access to resources and services, furthering its mission to empower individuals with disabilities to live independently and with dignity.

“We’ve listened to the needs of the community and worked to ensure this website reflects the voices and vision of those we serve,” added McCormick. “The new website is a powerful tool that will help us continue to build a more inclusive and accessible world.”

RCIL invites all members of the community to explore the new website and discover how they can access resources, join advocacy efforts, and learn more about RCIL’s critical work in the Central New York region and beyond.
